Welding Instructor

POSITION:                 Career-Technical Instructor: Welding

The Trumbull Career & Technical Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welding Instructor. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of industry experience in welding and possess the drive to teach and mentor the next generation of skilled welders.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Must possess or be willing to obtain appropriate Ohio Career Technical Teaching License before the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
• Five (5) years work experience in the welding field is required to secure a career technical teacher license.
• Holds or willing to obtain appropriate credentials in the manufacturing/welding pathway - Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) as a Certified Welder or Certified Welding Inspector; Certification from National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a plus.
• Previous teaching or mentoring experience in a welding or technical environment is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to instruct secondary students in the various welding techniques, including safety, blueprint reading, welding symbols, and various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core.
• Ability to instruct students in the appropriate employability behaviors needed to succeed in the work environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner teachers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and advisory members to develop relationships which facilitate the educational process.
• Such other qualities of academic, professional and personal excellence as may be specified by the TCTC Board of Education.
