Career Technical Education Sports & Exercise Science Teacher (Anticipated Opening):  Lakewood High Schools; 2025-2026 school year; full time; must have CTE Teaching license for the instruction of Sports Medicine/Exercise Science or ability to acquire; responsible to Coordinator of Career Technical Education and/or designee.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have valid State of Ohio Career Technical teaching license that is valid for the instruction of Sports Medicine/Exercise Science or eligibility to obtain.
Willingness to obtain relevant student industry credentials associated with the curriculum.
The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated strong teaching skills; strong organizational program delivery and communication skills, both written and oral; strong technology skills, both organizationally and instructionally; interpersonal skills and flexibility; grant writing experience; and have in-depth knowledge of the Sports Medicine/Exercise Science fields.
Knowledge and experience in Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy required, experience in Occupational Therapy a plus.
Physical/Occupational Therapy licensure/background and Master’s Degree strongly recommended.
Experience working with high school students including special education and diverse learners preferred.

DUTIES:

Provide instruction and supervision in Exercise and Athletic Training, Athletic Injury and Prevention, Nutrition and Wellness, Fitness Evaluation and Assessment, as well as Emergency First Aid/CPR/AED.
Collaborate with post-secondary institutions to facilitate student matriculation and drive community partnerships.
Emphasis is on preparing students for post-secondary study in a Sports Medicine/Physical Therapy field.
Communicate with students, parents and associate school staff regarding student performance.
