Position Overview

The Membership & Events Manager plays a central role in coordinating Ohio ACTE’s membership operations and events portfolio. This position manages all stages of event execution, from logistics and vendor coordination through post-event analysis, while ensuring accuracy and excellence in membership processes and data management within the Association Management System (AMS).

This is a tactical, execution-focused role that requires precision, reliability, and professionalism. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on organization, enjoys seeing plans come together, and takes ownership of the details that make events and member experiences successful.

Key Responsibilities

Event Management

  • Coordinate all aspects of the annual statewide conference, including planning, vendor management, logistics, AV, catering, signage, hotel blocks, and on-site support.
  • Manage four mid-sized events annually and provide administrative and logistical support for ten division-led events, with an emphasis on growing participation, consistency, and quality.
  • Serve as the primary contact for sponsors, exhibitors, and vendors, ensuring that all commitments and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Develop and track event budgets, ensuring approval by appropriate leadership before implementation.
  • Use event and AMS software to manage registrations, monitor attendance, and produce reports.
  • Conduct post-event reviews to document outcomes, financial performance, and member satisfaction.

Membership Operations

  • Administer the membership lifecycle, including applications, renewals, and retention activities within the AMS.
  • Maintain accurate membership data and support communication processes that ensure timely, professional responses to members.
  • Track membership trends and assist leadership in implementing retention and engagement strategies.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance, financials, and member engagement for internal reporting and decision-making.
  • Provide regular progress updates on registrations, sponsorships, and key event or membership metrics.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and overall quality in membership and event processes.

Professional Expectations

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in event coordination, membership management, or related nonprofit or association operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, timelines, and budgets within approved parameters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with AMS and event management software.
  • High personal standards for professionalism, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Comfortable in a small, high-performing team with a direct, performance-oriented leadership culture.

Compensation & Classification

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Full-time, Exempt | Reports to: Executive Director
