Millstream Career Center is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Automotive Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive technology, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Lesson Plans:

  • Create comprehensive lesson plans that align with the automotive curriculum and educational standards.

Instruction in Automotive Technology:

  • Instruct students in various aspects of automotive technology, including engine repair, electrical systems, brakes, and preventive maintenance.

Hands-on Demonstrations:

  • Demonstrate hands-on skills and provide practical, real-world examples to enhance the learning experience.

Positive Classroom Environment:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

Innovative Teaching Methods:

  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, technology, and industry-relevant resources to enhance the educational experience.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and hands-on assessments.

Feedback and Student Engagement:

  • Provide constructive feedback to students and actively engage in their academic and personal development.

Collaboration with Colleagues:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in automotive technology.

Participation in School Events:

  • Participate in school events, workshops, and professional development opportunities.

Lab Maintenance:

  • Maintain a safe and organized automotive lab, ensuring all equipment is in working order.

Qualifications:

Teaching Certification:

  • Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area or a willingness to obtain.

Automotive Industry Experience:

  • Proven experience in the automotive industry with expertise in the latest automotive technologies (minimum 5 years).

Communication Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Positive Learning Environment:

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Technology Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.

Dedication to Professional Development:

  • Dedication to staying current with industry trends and advancements.

Teaching Experience:

  • Prior teaching experience at the high school level is a plus.
